These rules were

The committee will not accept
any liability for accidents, injury or loss to competitors, spectators or
animals. Entries are accepted only on this basis.

The Judges decision is final
at all times.
-
No stallions allowed on the
Show ground- Stallions 3 years and over.
-
No unauthorised person
allowed in any ring during any class.
-
Bad behaviour to Judges and
Officials will not be tolerated, offenders may be suspended. Any horse or
pony whose behaviour is in the opinion of the Committee is considered to
be dangerous, will be asked to leave the showground. Dogs or other pets
must be kept on a lead at all times.

Objections- £10.00 to be
deposited to a committee member within 30 minutes of the incident. Written
confirmation to be produced within 7 days, £10.00 will be returned if the
objection is sustained.

Falsification of riders age
or height of pony will incur suspension and forfeiture of any points
accumulated. Age as on 1st January.

A height certificate must be
produced should the height of any horse or pony be disputed.

Any horse or pony which in
the opinion of the committee or Judge is unfit to compete, will be
eliminated from all classes and the entry fee refunded. Points awarded on
that day will be forfeited.

All mounted riders and
competitors in child handling classes must wear a hard hat to the B.S.
standard and appropriate tack.

Riders are requested to
proceed no faster than a walk in the vicinity of the rings, stalls, horse
boxes and pedestrians.

A two minute call will be
issued for any competitor not present when required. Notify the caravan if
you are engaged in another class otherwise you will automatically
scratched.

The club reserve the right to
refuse entry or cancel any event without prior notice.
-
Any person found to be
ill-treating animals or showing excessive use of whips or spurs will be
banned from further shows.
-
All competitors and lead rein
attendants must wear correct dress and footwear in all classes.
-
Lead rein pony not to exceed
12.2hh.
-
Lead rein pony to be ridden
in snaffle bit only, with lead rein affixed to noseband at all times.

Lead rein competitors' age 9
years and under except in Nursery Stakes (1st. January)

Tack and Turnout class,
Horse/Pony may not enter Style and Appearance classes.

All show jumping
classes to be under B.S. rules, excluding age limit. (Schooling whips not
allowed, maximum length 30inches)

Beginners
Showjumping Classes not open to horse/rider combination who have won a red
rosette in any jumping class, at any RRC or other show, in previous
seasons.

Novice
Showjumping Classes not open to horse/rider combination who have won 3
red rosettes in Novice or a higher level jumping class, at any RRC or
other show, in previous season.

Beginners W/H
Classes not open to horse/rider combination who have won a red rosette in
any W/H class, at any RRC or other show, in previous seasons.

Novice W/H
Classes not open to horse/rider combination who have won 3 red rosettes
in Novice or a higher level W/H class, at any RRC or other show, in
previous seasons.

Horse/rider combination may
only enter 2 show jumping classes, and 2 working hunter classes. The Open
Show carries no restrictions.

All working hunter pony
classes to be judged under B.S.P.S. rules, excluding age limit. All
horses/ponies in W/H classes must be plaited or hogged, with the exception
of pure bred Mountain & Moorland. Un-plaited horses/ponied may be marked down by
the Judge.

Style and appearance classes
to be judged as Style and appearance classes and not as a Show class.
-
In hand competitors may show
more than one horse/pony in any class, but must "run" and "show" all
animals (a groom may hold the animal not currently being run/shown).

Games classes to be run under
Club rules. No whips, crops or spurs to be used.
-
Handy pony classes: no crops,
spurs or whips to be used.
-
Dressage classes to be judged
under BDA Rules.
-
Spurs are only allowed in :-
Style and Appearance; ex.14.2hh, Mountain & Moorland, Coloured and Open Cob classes.
Show Jumping: Intermediate and Open horse ex.14.2hh.
Ridden Hunter
Working Hunter Jumping: Intermediate ex.14hh, and Open ex.14hh.
All dressage classes.

All competitors present in
show rings must be club members.
Lead rein leaders and showing grooms must be Associate Members.

Competitors must compete at
three club shows in the current season to be eligible for trophies.

In the event of a tie for
overall trophies, the competitor who has attended the most shows during
the season, will be awarded one extra point.

All trophies remain the
property of Ripley Riders Club and are presented on the understanding that
they will be returned by the date stated in a clean condition.

Points will be awarded for
the Supreme and Reserve Overall Championship on the best Show Jumping
class, best Working Hunter class, best Dressage class, best Style &
Appearance class, best Games & Handy Pony class, where “best” means “most
points awarded on that day if entered in more than 1 class per
discipline”.
